Centerville Place

A development that becomes a living attraction

Centerville Place is a new commercial real estate development in a southern suburb of Dayton, Ohio. Dillin real estate brand officer Cheryl Dillin approached us to create a brand identity for the new mixed-use development. Centerville Place was the next big business and residential hub in the south Dayton area. We tapped into Centerville, Ohio history, community, and commercial real estate expertise to make this brand come to life.

A development where you spend your days and nights.

Creating a brand identity that can house mixed-use properties is challenging with many unforeseen issues. Volant was tasked with creating an identity representing future residents' lifestyles and workplaces. In addition, the competition is changing, and the next hot spot in Dayton is constantly shifting. Our branding project needed to stand the test of time with a clear identity that would resonate with a broad audience.

DESIGN
Create a brandmark that can resonate with people.

The challenge was particular, to create a brandmark that is subtle but also identifiable long term. Most real estate developments hide their identity in the flagship stores and presence that more prominent brands bring to the table. Centerville Place needed to stand on its own and attract new tenants and residents by a unified voice and vision. After extensive research into brand shapes for commercial developments, Volant explored hundreds of options and provided the client with a real-time look into the progress of brand progression. The design combined a unique brand mark of a CP and a sans serif typeface that can hold its ground while putting personality into the mix.
